Our XL Bully guidelines for use at Dogs Unleashed
At Dogs Unleashed, we welcome dogs of all kinds, recognising the need of all dogs to exercise, train and have fun in a secure and safe environment.
However, we of course need to follow the Governments, and our insurers, guidelines when it comes to the XL Bully, or other restricted or banned breeds.
Rules for using our fields for banned breeds:
Owners must adhere to the regulations, as stipulated by DEFRA and any other government bodies when it comes to the ownership and management of these breeds when out in public spaces.

After booking a session with us, please contact us personally for further instructions on how to access the field.
1) Handler to dog ratio:
If a household has more than 1 dog, then 1 handler to these multiple dogs (including the XL Bully) is a minimum.
Muzzles and leads can be removed once inside the enclosed and secure field.
However, if you are meeting other dogs from other households at our field, we require the banned breed to remain muzzled and on a lead with their handler for the duration of the session.
2) Field Sharing:
As mentioned above, sharing the field with other dogs and breeds is fine. As long as the dogs have previously been acquainted, amicable and don’t have aggressive tendencies with each other.
Also, as noted, if dogs from other households are joining your session the banned breed (XL Bully) must be kept muzzled and on a lead.
3) Muzzle protocol:
Upon entry and exit from your car into the area (through the gate), we expect the muzzle to be on your dog until you are in the field and the gate securely closed.
4) Lead usage:
Alongside the muzzle protocol, we require you to keep your dog on a lead to and from your car, until your are inside the field and the gate securely closed.
5) Registration and paperwork:
Registration of the dog on the IED is crucial and we require a copy of the relevant paperwork, if it is your first time using our field.
6) Insurance obligations:
Alongside being registered, it is also imperative for owners to have correct public liability insurance for their dog and you send the paperwork to us, if it is your first time using our field.
7) Neutering and microchipping
The government rules are XL Bully dogs are neutered and microchipped.
8) Secure gates:
Please ensure the gate is securely closed and you arrive and leave on time to avoid any occurrences when you might cross paths with other dog owners and their dogs.
Please see our general terms and conditions here for other information.
